A website! A blog!

Things are getting serious around here.

Hi friends,

As promised, a blog! For those of you just joining us, I’d sent out a few emails as a newsletter to keep folks up to date with our progress. It became clear pretty quickly that the email wasn’t working, and that this is what blogs are made for! Basically, my pictures were making the emails too large to send to a lot of you.

So where are we at? Permits have been acquired! Walls have been pulled down! People have been hired! And best of all, we got a big ol loan from the wonderful town of Bellows Falls to help us with the renovations. I wouldn’t say we were hanging our success on getting this loan, but believe you me, it helps us out a ton and we did a happy little dance in the streets after that meeting.

Highlights

• We’re learning a lot about how water drains and doesn’t drain and about condensation and concrete permeability. Fascinating stuff that I hope to never think about again after this.

• We made an absolute mess of #92. We gutted just about the entirety of the salon, and then the balcony of the studio as well.

Tour Dates

Wednesday, March 8 - Dumpster party! We made a mess and need help cleaning it up! Basically we’ve been working around piles of rubble, saving up til we have enough to fill a dumpster, and we’re there. So come by Wednesday afternoon and lend a hand. We’ll have wheelbarrows to cart junk around.

Thursday, March 9 - Continuing with clean up probably. We have a couple potential contractors coming by Wednesday and Thursday so we don’t really know what kind of progress we’ll make.
