Studio 92 is the bringing together of a love for each other and the desire to create new and spectacular art in beautiful downtown Bellows Falls.
Erica Daniels
Hair Stylist
Erica’s salon occupies the downstairs space of Studio 92. She has been a hair stylist for 15 years, starting out in North Carolina where she formally trained at the Aveda Institute at Chapel Hill. She then worked at the Funky Monkey hair salon under NYC-trained Toni&Guy and Bumble&Bumble hair stylists, honing her craft before making the move to Boston, MA. Erica worked with and received informal trainings from a Vidal Sassoon stylist and worked to further her knowledge and understanding of color theory. She then went on to own Curlew Green salon in the Boston neighborhood of Jamaica Plain.
Tired of the bustle of the city, craving community and longing for a simpler life, she and Tim decided to move to Walpole, NH in September of 2023, and open Studio 92.
“I believe my job is to help people find the beauty in not just their hair but in themselves. Modern culture tries to convince us all that we aren’t enough, but I challenge each person in my chair to let that go and remember that we are beautiful and lucky to have each breath in our body and every hair on our head. I want to find the hair that makes you feel that, and helps you say, “Man, I’m sexy!””
Tim Wells
Artist
Tim is a sculptural artist working in the upstairs space of Studio 92. The realities of affording to live in Boston had prevented him from creating his own work for many years, but the move to Bellows Falls has provided him with the opportunity to finally explore the ideas that have been up there marinating since 2008.
His previous work involved common objects in large quantities, much in the style of Tara Donovan and Andy Goldsworthy. Tim is currently recreating some of his earlier work, specifically an evening gown made of thumb tacks that was accidentally destroyed during an exhibition. Once his portfolio is rebuilt, he plans on exploring oil paint and stained glass. Just not how you’d expect…
In a previous life, Tim was Head Decorator at Oakleaf Cakes in Boston, where he specialized in the big crazy cakes that were all the rage in the early 2010s. He was on the team that made the viral life-sized stormtrooper cake in 2012. Another favorite is Songbird from the video game Bioshock Infinite, made for the company that created it. After cakes, he found great joy in coaching competitive fitness and painting punny sidewalk signs, which you can expect to see outside Studio 92.
